St. Andrew Legal Clinic

      and access to justice for the working poor.

St. Andrew Legal Clinic has been defending the rights of low-income families and women in crisis since 1979. Those who are helped by the Clinic are the working-poor; families with children struggling to make ends meet; those who may not qualify for free legal aid, but who desperately need low-cost legal services. Of the more than 700 full-service legal cases managed by SALC attorneys each year, almost half involve families engaged in a battle over custody, visitation, or support of children.

Every client who comes to St. Andrew Legal Clinic receives quality representation and is guided through a complex legal process with compassion. Legal expertise is offered in family law cases involving adoption, domestic violence prevention, child custody and support, dissolution, and guardianship matters. As a result of the legal representation provided by the Clinic, parents experience increased financial stability, children grow up in safer homes, and families become stronger. In 33 years of practice, the Clinic has defended the legal rights of 47,000 Oregon families.

Through its Community Development branch office, SALC also provides transactional business law services to non-profit community-benefit agencies whose mission is to serve low-income people. Today more than ever, SALC advocates for Oregon families in-need.
